I have been on the finasteride for over 4 years now but have been told it is a prescription drug. The reason I mentioned this is because of the high price. I have been looking for a generic option which I can afford. I have been looking for a propecia for my hair loss for the past 5 years and the cost has been a little more than $400 for a 30ml bottle of 50mg finasteride (I have 3 months supply and the cost has been around $80). My hair loss is not going well so the cost has been a little higher and I have seen a few people who have been willing to try it. They have been told that it is a prescription drug and not a medication. They have even tried to buy one. I have been told they do not recommend this if you are taking finasteride and they are not on the same dose as the Propecia/Proscar (and not all that same). I have been told that I am not going to be taking the Propecia, but if I took it for 6 months I would be fine. I will update this thread to make sure I am not going to be using it as a medication.
